someone from OUTSIDE the organisation uses psychological skills and business understanding to help a person DEVELOP into a more effective leader.

the characteristic feature of individual coaching process is to look at the present moment in the leader's life in the way which enables him to work out, enlarge or improve the long term repertoire of his best leadership behaviour.

the major means of achieving coachee's objectives is to broaden his self-awareness as well as the awareness of how he influences others.

According to kafka: 'dealing with people induces self reflection'. looking at others we see ourselves.
from such perspective we sometimes notice that our intentions and our actual behaviour are sometimes inconsistent. yet, through confrtontation, which as sartre points out "is the base of all genuine human relations", we can reach the true contact, not avoiding conflict. conflict with self as well as with others. living to others' expectations and having a 'peace of mind' does not ALways serve us the best, conflict may at times serve as an opportuinity for disclosing different needs.

and then we have dilbert whose absurd office stories make us LAUGH, however at the same time they seem strangely familiar.

according to us - coaching is the time for self reflection and observation. THIS IN TURN GIVES US MANY OPTIONS INCLUDING THE ONE OF LAUGhING AT ONESELF AND CHOOSING A DIFFERENT APPROACH.
